Lei Zhao

Graduate Research Assistant

Department of Mechanical Enginering, Virginia Tech

I am current a fifth-year Ph.D student in the department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech working with Prof. Jiangtao Cheng. I was born and grew up in the hometown of the Confucius, Shandong province, China. I received my bachelor’s degree from the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, in 2014 and then entered Virginia Tech as a direct Ph.D student. Aided by theoretical modeling, computational simulations, and experiments, my research centers on interfacial science and wetting dynamics on functional surfaces.
